Activities of the Faro Foundation

Adrián Ravier, academic director of Fundación Faro, gave a talk on economics to a full room in the pampa

On Thursday, May 8, the Faro Foundation invited about 250 participants to an academic talk given by the renowned economist Adrián Ravier.

The event, which took place at La Rural in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, brought together rural leaders, representatives of the various local political forces, university students and entrepreneurs, among others.

During his presentation, Ravier, who has lived in La Pampa for 16 years, presented the diagnosis and subsequent evolution of the fiscal, monetary, and exchange rate reforms carried out by the government of Javier Milei. He placed special emphasis on the importance of reducing inflation. According to the economist, “by 2027, the stabilization plan of the current government will allow Argentina to have an inflation rate of only a single digit.” As for the exchange rate policy, he expressed that “the dollar will remain stable.”

During his dissertation, he also referred to the structural reforms promoted by the current national government. In that regard, he highlighted the results obtained, such as the improvement in the Economic Freedom Index, where Argentina climbed 21 places to rank 124th, according to The Heritage Foundation, and the reduction in the country risk, which is now below 700 points. At the same time, he highlighted other positive variables of relevance, such as the rebalancing of wages, the recovery in exports, the decline in the unemployment rate, a significant drop in the poverty rate and even more so in the rate of indigence.

Finally, Ravier encourages those present to “be part of the battle of ideas” and invites them to be trained “through the seminars offered by the foundation.” Fundación Faro’s academic proposal provides study programs designed to strengthen critical thinking and political action in defense of a more free society.

The seminar series, which emerges as a space for training and debate for those who defend the principles of freedom, the market, and limited government, is being held in person in the Foundation’s classrooms in Buenos Aires, as well as virtually through a digital platform that has already trained more than 500 people so far this year.

The study program, which includes modules on economics, public policy, entrepreneurship, history, human rights, political philosophy, law, and cultural battle, among others, features units dictated by Ravier himself, as well as by Agustín Laje, executive director of the Foundation, and Axel Kaiser, deputy academic director.
